Spedian was developed back in 2002 as a brand-new way of fitting trucks with graphics that were fast to apply and quick to remove, requiring no bolts, rivets, screws or welds.
At this time, many businesses, local authorities and organisations were realising that the use of traditional vinyl signs was not practical or cost-effective.
The Spedian System™ - proven to withstand the toughest of challenges
Spedian tested the innovative new system at one of the world’s most renowned testing centres, the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA).
This involved applying the Spedian System™ to the sides of a 44′ (13.5m) articulated trailer and rigorously testing its effectiveness on all types of road surface and configurations.
The system was tested whilst vehicles were driven at different speeds, even measuring how it fared when two oncoming vehicles were driven at each other to see if the panel could be taken off. It was also tested with damaged panels.
As the Spedian System™ team predicted, it passed all of MIRA’s tests with flying colours.
The Spedian System™ was launched in the UK in 2004 after more off road tests and final product refinements. Installers were trained on how to use the system and to this day are still fitting Spedian.
Recently tested on rail freight containers and exposed to winter temperatures of -40C over 3600 miles, the Spedian System™ has again ticked all of the boxes.
